BIOGRAPHY:
Landscape painter in oil. Born at Reigate, Surrey, Ninnes studied at the Slade School of Fine Art, 1927-30, under Henry Tonks and Philip Wilson Steer, and in Paris. He exhibited RA, RBA, ROI, NEAC, RWA, provincial galleries and the Paris Salon. Ninnes lived in St Ives, Cornwall, and was a member of the St Ives Society of Artists. In 1951 his painting Cornish Village won a prize in the St Ives Festival of Britain art competition and was reproduced in Cornish Review. His work is held by several provincial public galleries, including Hereford, Leamington Spa and Stoke-on-Trent.
